hey tim! still chugging away at the cookie store? :(

today was pretty freaking awesome. alisa and i spent most of the day together and it was so fun. i'm going to try to get those vids up tonight...we'll see. i will get the pictures off tonight.

so my picture today is of a ball of yarn. i really wish i was better at knitting. i've got about three projects just hanging around the house, unfinished.

so this is something small that is really big. this is a battery from my cam. it seems to be sucking down batteries like crazy these days, which is not good. three reason why my camera is on on battery kick:

-my photocard is bad
-my camera is bad
-i've been using the camera more frequently

hopefully it's either a or c, because b is very, very bad.

So today is dislikes.

there are lots of things i dislike.
there's not getting attention from ppl when i want it badly and have worked for it.
there's forgeting something i didnt want to do when i'm on my way to do something i enjoy.
there's not saying my coffee order correctly resulting in badly flavored coffee with no sweetness.

more things would be:
*getting a speeding ticket or two.
*being sad over things uncontrollable.
*feeling like i'm not good enough
*and even feeling to good.

But the dislike in the picture is

having the world at my feet and not knowing what to do.

making a decision when you know both answers are right.
but you can't mix the two.

I am in college for early childhood edu. and it's going well.
i feel i can definitely do it!

when ever i see a doctor or nurse or anything anyone medical.

when i see my future i see myself in a hospital or doctors office talking to people.
i see it, i feel it. but im not good at medical stuff. sure i watch scrubs, but does that make me smart in the field? Yeah you can learn that stuff, but it's hard and hard things ethier make me nervous or they make me not care. its not that i give up easy, but i don't do things that don't make me happy. (double negatives do make me happy.)
so being in childcare comes natural to me a lot of the time, and i have found that when it doesnt there are easy answers everywhere; like asking lindsey lol.
sometimes i question myself because i do something and wonder 'since when do i know things about kids?'
thats the reason i was in childcare in college for the past little while.
it came natural.
and honestly, this is a secret, but when things happened in school and i was unhappy or just very happy with something i would hear in my mind 'when iam a teacher and have a class room i will/willnot do this' and then i would shake my head and think oh yeah, i would never be a teacher so i wouldnt have that chance and laugh.
i assumed that since i had spent so much time in school it made me think thats what adults are.

but the thing is i want to try medical.
see it.
feel it.
& wear scrubs.
and watch it lol.

i hate having the choice to do one of two great things, knowing that i might still want the other down the road. The world is here at my toes saying you should know what haves you happy.
so maybe i know what would make me happy.
we'll see.

this is a picture of a letter sent to me by lynn shawcroft, wife to the late (but still freaking awesome) mitch hedberg. not only did she say i was sweet for helping her, but she sent me an awesome thankyou note and four mitch stickers! i opened the envelope when i was on the phone with alisa, and she can defintely tell you i was excited when i received this.

so anywho, this is something i like. alisa, there's a sticker coming your way. i also got a book at goodwill for you today, it's called looking for alaska. i think you'll like it.

so i do like this, and havent used wordpress i dont think.
and unlike myspace, this doesnt let you cheat b/c it doesnt let you pick when to post, it post when you post it. lol.
i am trying to think of things for if one of us forgets to post or whatever.
it's going to take some thinking.
we can do things ur style and if you dont post on time you have to buy the other person something random for less than a dollar fifty.
or we can do things weird and you have to wear toe socks to starbucks on ur hands.

also, maybe we should sign our posts with our names? less confusion that way.

i think the next two day idea was a good one. that way, we can also do little intros of ourselves, likes and dislikes. so that will cover tuesday and wednesday, and i guess that i'll start thursday on my own, if that's ok? so on your wednesday post, give me a suggestion for thursday.

then we will alternate days, and skip sunday. if it's your turn on sunday, the your turn starts on monday.

also, there should be some consequence for not posting on time. ideas?

is this thing typing slow for you? is blogspot ok? would you rather use wordpress?

the beginning

hi, and welcome to the beginning of our new blog, life through a lens. i'm lindsey, and my friend alisa will also be maintaining this blog.

although we live 5 minutes from each other, we are very busy girls and we don't get to talk much, so we're going to communicate through a picture blog. six days a week, we will alternate posting a picture about our day. it could be more than one pic, but only one is required. we will take sundays off, because this is the day we actually see each other.

ok alisa, here are the proposed rules:

1. you must post at least one picture every other day.
2. the picture must be taken that day.
3. deadline for posting is 12 midnight.
4. the days you post, you will give me a suggestion for the next days pic. for example: something green, your classroom, the shoes you wore that day, etc.
on my days, i'll give you suggestions.
